acceptable use

Acceptable-use policy

This applies to everything you do with Oraicle: the models, live data, agents, and any site published with us. It is also what a takedown stands on.

What you may not do

  • Phishing, or pretending to be someone else. Pages that collect passwords, card numbers or one-time codes meant for somebody else, or that present themselves as another business, as a person, or as us.
  • Malware. Files that take over, damage or spy on the device that opens them.
  • Spam. Unsolicited bulk mail or messages, and the pages behind them.
  • Illegal content, and anything that sexualises children.
  • Work that is not yours to publish, including someone else's text, pictures, video or code.
  • Attacks on other people's systems: scanning them, breaking into them, flooding them, or using a model to plan any of it.
  • Getting around a limit. Extra accounts to get around a quota, or to collect the $0.25 welcome credit or a referral reward a second time. That credit is credit to spend here; it is never cash and is never paid out.

Agents, in particular

A published agent page speaks in your name to your visitors, so everything above applies to it, and to what it asks them.

  • An agent page may not ask a visitor for a password, a card number or a code. A page whose title carries a bank, payment or login word is refused when it is published.
  • An agent page is a site. It counts as one of yours, and the rest of this policy applies to it as it does to any site.

Hosting, in particular

Hosting is open to everyone. These are the rules a site published with us lives under.

  • Static files, and nothing else. We take the files from your public GitHub repository and serve them as they are. Nothing in the repository is built or run on our machines: not a build command, not a Dockerfile, not a git hook. A published site only serves pages to visitors; it cannot receive anything sent to it, such as a form submission.
  • Customer sites live on oraicle.app. Nothing of ours is served from there, and nothing you publish is served from oraicle.me.
  • What the publishing path takes: at most 25 MB for one file, 10,000 files, and 50 MB for one publish.
  • Your own domain answers only after you have shown that the name is yours.
  • The free plan includes 20 GB of traffic per 30-day period, allows one free site per account, and carries a "Hosted with Oraicle" badge on each page. Past the traffic its plan includes, a site keeps serving for 24 hours and is then stopped, unless you have switched on Extra bandwidth, at $0.05 per GB.

What happens to a site that breaks this

  • The site is taken down. Its address then shows a page of ours saying the site was taken down for breaking this policy, and linking here.
  • Its owner sees it in the console, where the site reads "Taken down". If you think that is a mistake, write to abuse@oraicle.me. The reason a person recorded is not shown there today; you can ask for it at the same address.
  • Nothing is deleted. The files, every kept version, the address and the custom domain all stay while the site is off, so a takedown that was wrong can be undone.
  • Making the same pages again under a new name does not get round it. A taken-down site's name stays reserved, and a person lifts the block after an appeal to abuse@oraicle.me.
  • Money is separate. A takedown moves no money by itself: the plan keeps running until it is cancelled, and a refund is its own decision.

An unpaid plan is not a policy matter and is handled on its own: the site keeps serving for 7 days, is then stopped, and after 30 days stopped it is deleted with its plan.

What happens to an account

  • An account that keeps breaking this policy is closed.
  • An address closed for abuse cannot open another account, however it is spelt. Every other address can still sign up.

Reporting a site

Anyone can report a site published with us, with no account: use the report form. Our own pages on a customer's address carry a link to it with that address already filled in. A person reads every report. You can also write to abuse@oraicle.me.

Every new site also goes on a list for a person to look at.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is published on this page, and it is the one that applies from then on.

The other two pages

Terms is the agreement itself: the account, the wallet, and how either side ends it. Privacy says what we keep, and for how long.
